LABEL-FREE DETECTION OF OLIGONUCLEOTIDE SEQUENCES VIA HIA

Picture

Hybridization-induced aggregation (HIA) of oligonucleotide-adducted beads in a RMF enables detection of λ-DNA target and PL target at 70 and 25°C, respectively.  When the two assays are combined in a single well, pinwheels form at both 25 and 70°C.  From this result, multiplexed pinwheel assays can be derived to detect multiple targets in a single well by simply ramping through a select temperature range.

EVALUATION OF MULTIDRUG RESISTANCE VIA HIA

The drugs used for tuberculosis treatment include rifampicin (RIF), ethambutol (EMB), isoniazid (INH), amikacin (AMK), and ofloxacin (OFX).  Conventional diagnostics rely on cell culture to determine the effective drug(s) to treat tuberculosis, which normally takes up to six weeks, while our HIA technology requires less than 3 days.
